Cardinals vs Texans 2021: Betting Lines & Predictions

The Arizona Cardinals are the only undefeated team in the NFL ahead of Week 7. Is there a way the Houston Texans could put an end to their impressive run?

Oddsmakers don’t think so. DraftKings Arizona is giving the moneyline odds of -1500 on the Cardinals, suggesting that their straight seventh win is on the way.

It seems that the real question for the Cardinals vs Texans game is not who will win it; the big question is whether the Cards can cover the spread.

At the moment, the bookmakers see Arizona as an 18-point favorite, which is the largest margin we’ve seen so far in the 2021 NFL season.

Kyler Murray to Make Another MVP Statement?

football-nflThe man most responsible for Arizona’s fantastic run this season is Kyler Murray. The Cards’ third-year quarterback has been nothing short of phenomenal so far, with a 73.8% pass completion, 1,741 passing yards, and 14 touchdowns. After six game weeks, only four of his passes were intercepted.

What’s equally impressive is that Murray has also been great at carrying the ball – we saw him scoring a rushing touchdown in three games so far.

As a result of all this, Murray is now the co-favorite to win the regular-season MVP award, along with the Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. At FanDuel, the odds on Murray becoming the 2021 MVP are +400.

Arizona’s Defense Looking Great at the Moment

It’s all about Kyler Murray when the Arizona Cardinals are discussed, but this team is not a one-man army. Sure, their offense has been fabulous, but their defense hasn’t been bad either.

With 109 points conceded in six games, the Arizona defense is the third-best in the league. Not bad, one might argue, but they might get even better. The thing is that their form seems to be improving.

In fact, in the past four games, they haven’t allowed more than 20 points per game. It seems that this trend will continue in Week 7, considering that Houston’s offense doesn’t seem very dangerous.

Cardinals vs Texans Prediction

betting pediciton iconEveryone seems to be expecting the Cardinals to get an easy win – the easiest win so far.

This may seem strange, especially knowing that Arizona will be without both the head coach and the general manager in this game. The story goes that Kliff Kingsbury and Steve Keim tested positive for COVID, meaning that they will have to stay isolated.

Still, even without them, the Cardinals seem to have enough talent to add another win to the list. The big question is will they be able to win by 18 points or more?

Such a scenario is definitely possible. After all, we’ve seen them doing such a thing twice already in the 2021 season.

It’s almost certain that they will grab a big win on Sunday, but we might not see them scoring too many points. The Texans might be bad in the offense, but their defensive team has some really good players.

That said, betting on Houston +17.5 does seem like the best option.

Pick: Houston +17.5
