The Arizona Coyotes are at the very bottom of the Western Conference with 5-2-16. This team did show some signs of improvement in November, winning three and losing one in overtime. Still, the month didn’t end well for them – they lost to the Minnesota Wild on the last day of November.
Their first game of December is on the program on Friday when they welcome the Vegas Golden Knights at Gila River Arena in Phoenix. Knowing that Vegas is currently sitting near the top of the conference table, it’s obvious why Arizona sportsbooks see the visitors as the favorites.
Still, the Coyotes do have a pretty decent record against the Golden Knights. They won two of their previous three meetings. The one the Coyotes didn’t win, they lost in overtime. The most recent clash between Golden Knights and Coyotes happened in October when we saw the Arizona franchise winning 3-1.

Golden Knights Could Be Too Tired
On December 1, the Golden Knights played against the Anaheim Ducks in Los Angeles. From there, they needed to travel to Arizona to take on the Coyotes, less than 48 hours later. What this means is that they’re going to be way more tired than their opponents from Phoenix.
Apart from having a busy schedule, the Golden Knights also have problems with absentees. There are at least five Vegas players who will miss the game with the Coyotes, including one of their best forwards William Karlsson, and experienced defenseman Alec Martinez.
Arizona Coyotes Eying Their Sixth Win of the Season
The Coyotes don’t have a very good roster this season, it’s a fact. However, this doesn’t mean that they should raise a white flag straight away. There’s still plenty of time left for them to improve their standings.
Unfortunately for them, their form is very poor. They’re coming off a disappointing defeat to the Wild, which saw the Coyotes conceding five or more goals in a game for the tenth time in the 2021 season.
Still, conceding five against the Wild isn’t too embarrassing, knowing that this team has scored more goals than anyone else in the Western Conference. Arizona’s next opponent, however, isn’t that great scoring-wise.
Golden Knights vs Coyotes Prediction
This game seems like a fantastic opportunity for the Coyotes to get back on the winning track. Bookmakers disagree, but that only means the odds are very attractive. Backing the Coyotes at +268 looks like a very lucrative betting option.
